Welcome

Total Audio Video Systems works with Builders from the ground up. We’ll design/build an audio video system to your specifications and provide detailed proposals for you to pass along to your client or incorporate into your construction package. TAVS will coordinate the project with your Site Project Manager and provide the necessary documentation and drawings to ensure your system is installed efficiently and on-time. For residential systems, we’ll also customize literature that “walks” a new homeowner through the system design process and demonstrates the importance of pre-wiring and planning. ENVISION.
It’s your house, and you’ve chosen your countertops, your fixtures, and your exterior elevation. Now it’s time to make your house your home. Choose the features that you want your home to include and how you want to interact with it.

By planning and designing now, at pre-construction, these elements can be seamlessly integrated into your home’s design.

Imagine music in every room and ambient lighting scenes. Feel secure with cameras to monitor the baby or the front door, a private home theater for you and your family…. Just a sampling of what you may choose to personalize your residence.

Your new home begins with a basic Home Technology Center. Let’s build your system...

FOR STARTERS.
The Home Technology Center is the Hub, or center, of a structured wiring package that serves as a foundation for all of your home systems. The HTC as a standard provides for Cable TV and telephone distribution, including pre-wiring for broadband internet sharing, satellite TV distribution and Gigabit network connectivity. In addition, wiring is provided to make your home Media Center ready.

This starter package includes wall plates for each Bedroom plus a Family/Great Room that will provide Cable TV, telephone, data and Satellite TV for these rooms. In addition, each of those rooms will also offer a single phone jack installed across the room for convenience. A wall plate in the kitchen will be provided to accommodate an on-wall telephone and network connectivity to allow for Media Center integration.

The HTC will be located conveniently in the Laundry room. This is an in-wall, metal enclosure, that performs its job without getting in the way. The enclosure houses all the wiring and modules necessary to make the systems function. Any future upgrades, or add-ons will also be incorporated into this enclosure.

Now, let’s explore your options...

Decisions, decisions

Communications
Telephone, Internet, Intercom and Video Conferencing. Let’s discuss these features and determine which best suits your lifestyle.

Distributed Entertainment
The Digital Lifestyle. A Media Center can streamline the access and storage of your digital content. Additional PC’s, media center extenders, an Xbox 360 or even a media smart flat panel TV, can access your digital content. Share your photos and video library, adjust your thermostat, record your favorite shows, monitor and interface with your whole-house system.

Distributed Audio
Let’s determine which rooms will offer the accessibility of shared music sources from your iPod, a CD player, Music Server or satellite radio. We’ll also plan where your speakers will be placed.

Distributed Video
Would you like to locate your satellite receivers in one central location, rather than having a receiver sitting in every room? Perhaps you’d like to add a video server where each TV can access a shared video library.

Home Theater
Your Home Theater can be whatever you want it to be. It can be a Plasma with a 5.1 Surround Sound System or it can be a dedicated cinema with a 100” Screen, Projector, Motorized Theater Chairs, Custom Draperies and Acoustical Panels. We’ll design it to your specifications.

Lighting
Relax, Entertain, Good Night. Just a few of the customized ambient lighting scenes that you help to create. Recessed lighting, portrait accents, sconces, lighting designed to your taste. Lighting control is as energy-conscious as it is beautiful, helping to significantly reduce wasted energy consumption.

Shades
Motorized window shades and draperies, pre-set to your liking or adjusted at the touch of a button. Endless choices of designer fabrics and weaves for every décor.

CCTV
Peace of mind. See who’s at the door, take a peep at the baby’s crib from any room in the house, even look in on your house while you’re away. Add a layer of security to your home.

Control
Control, automation, a “smart home” – This is the central brain of your system. All you need to decide is whether you want a customized color touchpanel to access your features, a keypad or a simple remote. We’ll help you determine the best choice for you in each setting.

You’re ready to begin designing your personalized system...

CONSIDER. PLAN.
Your first consideration for the design of your home is you and your family. How old are the kids? How will you use each room? Do you like to entertain? Will you spend a great deal of time in the outdoor areas? Are you a sports fanatic, or a movie lover? The answers to each of these questions can influence the design of your system.

Next, consider that your house is not only your home, but an investment. Think about what you’d like now, and what you may like to have in the future. What may seem like technologies of the future, such as smart appliances, are already here. Imagine accessing your home via the Internet to tell your oven, which has acted as a refrigerator all day to store your favorite casserole, to start cooking so that you can have your dinner waiting when you get home...if you’ve planned ahead and provided a simple run of CAT6 wire.

Even if you decide not to choose additional features beyond your basic Home Technology Center, consider allowing for them to be easily added in the future by planning and providing wiring for them. By doing so now, at pre-construction, you can save thousands in the long run.

Also, consider the added value to your investment. In a competitive housing market, a home that is pre-wired may give yours the edge over a neighbor’s home that requires an expensive retrofit to update.

DESIGN.
You’re home. You step into the Foyer, toss your keys and…you decide. First, let’s determine which features you want at the core of your design. Next, we’ll plug in those elements room by room.
